Ashley Altick

May 12, 2009

Born and raised in Dallas, Texas, Ashley Altick is a 1998 graduate of Duke University.  She has a Bachelor’s of Arts in Public Policy from Duke, and earned her law degree from Southern Methodist University.

Prior to law school, Ashley worked as a financial analyst for a leading technology company. Ashley is admitted to practice in all Texas state courts as well as the Northern, Southern and Eastern districts of Texas.

Ashley’s litigation experience spans many industries, including insurance, hospitality, and construction as well as chemical and banking.  She has represented the interests of companies that have only two employees to those that have thousands across the globe.  Ashley analyzes each case thoroughly and formulates solutions that are specific to that client’s exact needs and wishes, which may include avoiding litigation altogether.  She is skilled in pre-suit negotiation and strategy as well as creating strategy for a case beginning to end.  Ashley’s finance background allows her to counsel clients on financial matters related to litigation as they grapple with difficult business decisions, especially in these tough economic times.

Understanding the importance of giving back to her community, Ashley volunteers with CONTACT Crisis Line on the phone lines, supports the Junior League of Dallas, and commits many volunteer hours to Wesley Prep, a Dallas private school.  Ashley also supports other local organizations including Attitudes & Attire, the Children’s Cancer Fund, and Habitat for Humanity.

An avid Duke fan, Ashley is also involved with the Duke Club of North Texas and, of course, is a loud supporter of the Blue Devils during basketball season.

Daylen’s genius is in his attention to detail and preparation. His level of expertise in the law was astounding. He knew what to expect and when to expect it. Best of all he was ready to win before he started. He understood every nuance of our case. It was an amazing experience to see someone articulate our concerns so clearly to the court. Daylen certainly put us on the offensive until our victory was achieved. When I talk to my friends, I tell them Daylen is a combination of a velvet wrecking ball and a General from Sun Tzu’s Art of War.

Daylen handled a case for us against FedEx for almost two years. The federal law that applied to the case made it extremely difficult to obtain favorable results. However, in the end, Daylen’s good counsel and effective strategies garnered us a favorable settlement.

Daylen has been handling a significant piece of litigation for our company. Since his entry into the case, Daylen has taken aggressive positions with the opposing side and won a major summary judgment victory right away which turned the tide of the case in many respects. He continues to obtain favorable results and has been sensitive to providing cost effective legal service for the company.

I have worked with many attorneys over the past ten years, and my wife is also in the legal field. I would rate Daylen as good as any can find. He is smart, extremely well prepared, organized, professional, and responsive to every situation presented. I have been pleased with his service and would recommend him to other business persons seeking a professionally aggressive attorney who maintains a good balance between being an effective trial attorney and a good business counselor.
