Philosophy
The Firm’s philosophy is simple: excellence is not an act, it’s a habit.
It is the Firm’s habit to develop creative and aggressive strategies for its clients. Whether in the court room, at mediation or arbitration, in settlement negotiations, or in providing guidance on business matters and preventative legal solutions, we tenaciously pursue our clients’ best interests.
We employ strategic use of Civil Rules, procedures, claims and defenses in all types of commercial litigation whether that litigation is complex or relatively simple. For plaintiffs we find ways to create additional risk for the defendant which often results in quicker settlement. For the defendant we can many times find a way to seek affirmative relief, switching the burdens and exposure of the lawsuit to the plaintiff.
We make it a habit to include the client in all aspects of strategy and planning. The client is a critical part of the team. Experience teaches us that the client often has great ideas and must be regarded as an excellent source of information. Effective and timely communication between the attorney and the client is essential to delivering the highest customer service.
Finally, the Firm works with clients to develop innovative fee structures within the clients’ budget. After careful and frank discussion with the client regarding the litigation and potential costs, the Firm can make suggestions to help clients stay within their desired budget.
For example, the Firm has developed certain areas of practice, such as its work with non standard insurance companies, which tend to be appropriate for flat fee services. The Firm can also structure fees in a flat fee/ hourly fee blend, hourly, contingency or contingency/hourly blend. Certain matters can also be litigated on a monthly budget mutually agreed upon by the Firm and the client. If any part of the Firm’s fee is contingent, it does not include the expenses related to the lawsuit. squares
